( Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre ) Manitoba paleontologists have unearthed the bones of a prehistoric sea creature approximately 80 million years old. Scientists from the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre in Morden, Man., have dug up two mosasaurs, a huge reptile known as the "T-Rex of the sea." The dig site in southern Manitoba also uncovered a prehistoric squid and bird fossils, giving scientists new insight into what Western Canada looked like 80 million years ago. The area has a rich history of offering up ancient sea creature fossils. The discovery centre is already home to a 13-metre-long mosasaur fossil named Bruce, found in 1974 near Thornhill, Man. Friday July 8th I drove down to Parrsboro (you must be familiar with the place by now if you've read my earlier blog posts) to take part of the Five Islands Provincial Park curatorial walk, organized by the Fundy Geological Museum with Ken Adams as the interpreter. The Atlantic Nationals (i think) Car Show was a 3 day weekend event in Moncton. Friday night, Main Street in Moncton was super packed it was almost unbearable to walk through the hordes of gawking car enthusiasts. I took a few shots for the fun of it. I'm sure lots of people took pictures of the hundreds of cars parked on the street. I just randomly shot what picked my fancy. Flyin Nun's car!.. well in blue. =P Seconds before it beats its wing and takes off... Celebrity popped up! Yuk Yuk!

Even Darth Vader has a Light side

Hiyas! Last Sunday me, my brother Don, and my friends Phil and Noel decided to go for a drive. With over 20+ rainy days in the month of June, there was no way we were staying cooped up in the house on a gorgeous sunny day. So we hopped in Don's SUV and proceeded south towards Alma. Along the way we passed an Antique Museum/Collectibles. It had old cars in the lot and other miscellaneous stuff. I asked to turn the vehicle around so that we could stop and check it out. I'm glad we did. That place had all sorts of antiques: old disc phonographs with huge horns, Victorian style furniture, books, cars, bikes, and a variety of other stuff. I'll have to remember to come back in the near future to come pick a few things. We arrived at Alma and made a pit stop at the Fundy National Park Visitor's Information Center.
